Three Days in the Life of a CPAC Blogger
John Hawkins is, for my money, the hardest working political blogger on the internet. He hustles like no one I’ve ever seen to line up interviews with people most other bloggers never touch (like Thomas Sowell) and runs not just one heavily-updated blog but two. He’s also generous with his time (he frequently guests on [...]
What’s This? A Guest Blogger?
For the past few months, I’ve been mulling over ways to make The Sundries Shack a more interesting place to visit. One of the changes I’ve been considering is adding a couple few guest bloggers to the roster, to give you all a change of pace and to add more character to the place. Well, [...]
Jimmie’s back!
I have enjoyed posting here at The Shack! I want to thank everyone, especially Tom, for reading and commenting on my posts. If you love to hate me, come over to Carnivorousness UPDATE (from Jimmie): I am HOME! The trip was wonderful and there is a lot to tell, but it’ll have to wait until [...]
Book review, by Miss C
In an earlier column, I was dismissive of the book, Why Men Marry Bitches, by Sherry Argov. I have here the perfect antidote to that awful book, it’s, How to Set His Thighs on Fire, by Kate White! It’s chock full of excellent advice. Keep this book next to your beds, ladies.

Islamic edicts would be illegal in most liberal societies
The enforcement of Sharia law violates human rights and should not be tolerated by the world community. There is nothing wrong with voluntarily submitting to Islamic edicts, but when they are enforced at the point of a gun or by threats against life and family, they should not be tolerated by the civilized world. Each [...]
The current events reminded me of a Dear Abby column,
Dear Abby, A couple of women moved in across the hall from me. One is a middle-aged gym teacher and the other is a social worker in her mid-twenties. These two women go everywhere together and I’ve never seen a man go into their apartment or come out. Do you think they could be Lebanese? [...]
We love martyrdom, but we take precautions to deny the enemy an easy victory!
Sheik Nasrallah, the egghead leader of Hizballah, is now backpeddling as fast as the Israeli ground troops can drive their tanks into the streets of Lebanon. Disgarding his former “Bring it on, you Jew bastards, sons of infidel dog Bush/Satan,” rhetoric, he is now making a pathetic attempt to put a cheerful slant on yet [...]
