Clearing the Browser Tabs – New Black Panther Pals Wednesday Edition
I’m going to go way out on a limb here and say that no major media outlet is going to pick up the story that Barack Obama campaigned with the thugs of the New Black Panther Party. That’s a shame, because it could be quite newsworthy. After all, the Obama administration’s Justice Department decided to drop a slam-dunk voter intimidation case against two members of the NBBP for what appeared to be no good reason.
Once upon a time, when the President wasn’t both the New Messiah and a doctrinaire progressive Democrat, a middling reporter would jump on this in the hopes that it would turn into a Pulitzer-winning bombshell. Careers have been launched on far, far less. Then again, any journalist worth their salt would have pounced on the left’s puzzling silence after the President ordered the killing of Anwar al-Awlaki.
But there’s no media bias. No way.
Expect a show post in the early afternoon. Last night’s episode of The Delivery was a little bit goofy, a little bit serious, and a lot entertaining. I did something in the second half that I’m positive you’ve never heard in a podcast before, and for a good purpose, too.
And now, links!
- Kurt Schlichter wrote another excellent post on how to fight back against the ginned-up smears (like, say, Rick Perry’s Racist Rock) and put the churls who spread them back on their heels. It is essential reading.
- The Fatty McAwesome Express? Why, that’s my train!
- It is not time to lift the embargo on Cuba.
- Ed Driscoll: The Medium is the Lack of Message. Basically, brainless slogans on signs waved by aimless discontented middle class kids miffed that their college degree didn’t buy them the easy life doesn’t make for a compelling political movement.
- I can’t honestly decide whether the inevitable increase in bank fees that resulted from Dick Durbin’s meddling was an unintended consequence or not.
- Of course Democrats are trying to redistrict Republicans out of office in Maryland. Of course. Take a look at the area around Baltimore and tell me those districts are anything but partisan political constructs.
- Want to be a good parent, or just a good influence on a young child? Be a PILLAR.
- Did you know the moon makes waves in our atmosphere during a solar eclipse? It’s true, and pretty cool.
- I have never met Ree Drummond, the Pioneer Woman, but she is one of my favorite people on the planet because she makes delicious food like Potato, Sausage, and Kale Soup, then shares the recipe with all of us.
