Clearing the Browser Tabs – “Booyah, You Losers” is Undignified Wednesday Edition
I know it’s not seemly to gloat over the misfortunes of your political foes. I tried not to gloat over the beatdown the Democratic Party took at the hands of New York voters in a district that has been held by Democrats since the 1920s, a seat once held by Democrat all-stars such as Anthony Weiner, Chuck Schumer, and Geraldine Ferraro. I did everything I could not to chair-dance as I watched tweet after tweet fly down my timeline, each carrying more glad news and links like this one with headlines so delicious that…well…
I tried. Honest.
But I’m only human. I think what destroyed my composure like a harsh desert wind would destroy a house made of damp toilet paper was when Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, head of the Democratic National Committee said, without any apparent fear of contradiction, that the New York 9th Congressional district was “a very difficult district for Democrats” (via Allahpundit’s Twitter feed). Since 1996 — eight elections — no Democrat has gotten less than 60 percent of the vote. Anthony Weiner won in 2008 with over 93% of the vote and didn’t even have an opponent in 2006.
So I don’t feel bad jeering at Wasserman-Schultz and her merry band of Democrats who have to keep up a brave front to hide the fact that they’re going full-tilt boogie toward the biggest electoral embarrassment since I ran on a whim for Administrative Vice President of Charles County Community College and garnered two whole votes. I never did find out who else voted for me.
Don’t duck out before you read Andrew Breitbart’s victory lap and Erick Erickson’s post that suggests gay marriage still isn’t the huge wedge issue Democrats think it is.
The show post for The Delivery’s big Second Birthday show will be up a bit later today. I think it’s one of my best shows — at least one of the best of the past few months. Again, great guests, wisely chosen, can make a good show great. That’s what happened last night.

- If you are in charge of a company or organization and you’re not waist-deep in social media, you’d better get a move-on (via mediagazer). Also, if you need someone to give you pointers or help build your presence on the internet, drop me a note. I can help.
- There is no good reason we haven’t made as many deals with Canada as we can to get millions of gallons of oil from their oil sands (via Instapundit). There are plenty of political reasons, but those aren’t good ones.
- The White House isn’t even trying to hide its thuggery anymore. Don’t be fooled because the man making the groundless complaint against Darrell Issa, Mike Lux, isn’t on the White House payroll. He is a former member of the Obama transition team and his complaint is built on the debunked and mostly-retracted New York Times story.
