Clearing the Browser Tabs – Revenge of the ATMs Thursday Edition
The President’s intemperate remarks about ATMs not surprisingly struck a nerve among those good Americans who make, service, and rely upon ATMs for the livelihoods (via Pat Austin).
Try not to act too surprised.
What amazes me most is not that it was yet another in a string of unforced errors from a man we were assured was the smartest man to become President in recent memory. No, I knew that was pure hype. I’m more astonished that even though it must be abundantly obvious to the President that almost every extemporaneous conversation he’s had in public view had ended badly, he simply won’t shut up.
It’s almost as if he has no one around him capable of telling him he’s anything less than Super Awesome.
And now, links!
- I don’t question whether Barack Obama loves Americans; I question whether he even knows who we are. Well, that’s not fair. He knows who some Americans are — the ones with plenty of money and influence to wield for him in 2012, at least.
- I have said this before, but the growing story of Operation Fast and Furious (AKA: Gunrunner) should be in front of Americans ever day. However, as it’s a story of deadly incompetence by the Obama administration, you’re relegated to learning about it from the new media.
- Stephen Green should not have had to defend his defense of Ferris Beuller’s Day Off. I’m glad he did, though, because he captures in a few short sentences what we conservatives should do with all the worthy parts of the popular culture. And yes that movie is a worthy part.
- Whatever will happen to the vast and wealthy Church of Global Warming when the Earth begins to cool as it looks like it will?
- I honestly don’t understand Nanny Staters. Most times, they don’t make a lick of sense.
- You might remember the story I mentioned a couple of weeks ago on The Delivery wherein the WHO had sounded the alarm klaxon over the potential, possible risk of tumors from cell phone use. Science, however, is not on board with the WHO’s alarmism.
- The best part of this blog post is where the right punched back twice as hard.
- If you’re like me, you have a heck of a time remembering a person’s name after you’ve met them briefly. The Art of Manliness has some useful tips if you want to get better at that.

One machine Barack Obama won't get rid of is the cotton harvester.
Glad to see the comments are visible again.
I learned they weren't a couple of days ago. It appears that IntenseDebate, the plugin I use for the neat threaded comments and such, does not play nicely with WordPress (or at least I don't know how to make it do that). I had been approving comments from within WordPress, but I had negleted to approve them within IntenseDebate's system, so they weren't showing up. I had to turn on the approval switch on the admin part of my site to even see that I needed to do that. Great, huh?
