Clearing the Browser Tabs – Media on the Job Tuesday Edition
I’m heartened to know that the MSM has chosen to analyze the news of the day with its usual senses of professionalism and objectivity.
Headline #1: “Wingnut debt ceiling demands” (CNN)
Headline #2: “Bachmann assumes the position” (WaPo)
I’m sure glad they’re around, otherwise we’d have to rely on those beastly partisan and irresponsible bloggers for our news.
Wouldn’t that be horrible?
I have a bunch of stuff in store for The Delivery’s live taping tonight and I’m not anywhere close to sure I”ll be able to get it all in. I might have to severely bend the “no politics in the second half” rule to make sure most of it will fit into the show. There is also the distinct possibly that, thanks to John King’s woeful performance last night, a special yet familiar guess will make an appearance. So be there at 9:30 PM Eastern.
And now, links!
- Another House recess, another month without a populist uprising against the economic policies suggested by the Republicans. Why, it’s almost as if the Democrats are jealous of the Tea Parties.
- Walter Russell Mead has an interesting long piece on the “Arab Spring” and how we in America go about seeking revolution in other places.
- This piece on the patent process is a bit of a heavy read, but I think it’s important if you want to get a better sense of how needlessly difficult we’ve allowed our elected officials to make entrepreneurship lately.
- Old Line Elephant has a great short interview with Dan Bongino, who is running for Senate in Maryland. The more I see and hear from Bongino, the more I like him. He would certainly be an improvement over Ben Cardin.
- The New York Times should care that its careless reporting will get people killed. Sadly, it does not and this is not the first time it’s happened.
- The only people who can read this and not think more kindly of Sarah Palin are those with so much hate in their hearts that they’re eaten up with it.
- I’m convinced that the record companies are bound and determined to put themselves out of business. Why they’ve not embraced Pandora and used it better is entirely beyond me. (via Techmeme).
- Crimes against gay people in a certain neighborhood England have skyrocketed in the past three years and it’s all the fault of those darned Lutherans. No, wait…
