The only attribution I got was a context-free link on his web page, which Beck’s staff felt was appropriate. That was more than I expected, actually — I’d heard plenty of stories from other bloggers about Beck — and I was sure to thank him for the little credit he did give me. What else was there to do? Beck is a big media guy, which means he pretty much gets to do what he wants. Out here in the world of new media, the first law is the Law of the Jungle, and, as Jeff Dunetz notes with several personal examples, my experience was far from unique. I agree with your last line, that it's on him. Why is it we bloggers are held to one standard, while the "big guys" can do whatever they want? I'm a wife and mother of two with a full time job outside of blogging. Why is it too much to ask for the "pros" to stick to the same standards we "amateurs" stick to? Now I feel like I need to cross check every video or link I get from The Blaze to make sure that's the real source.

I was going to do a post about this, but it's so late. Your well ahead of me and to be honest I am not a great or even good writer, I do it mainly for myself, to vent. But it does tick me off when I see my content being used by others. Granted it has only happened twice, and those that did it are not in the same class as Beck but I get what your saying.

I know how you feel, and I am not even in the same league as your are!
