Clearing the Browser Tabs – Championship Sunday Edition
Those of you who listen to The Delivery every week will know that I made a complete hash of my football picks last week and I’m not particularly proud that the one I got (Chicago over Seattle) was pretty much the easiest of the bunch. So, I’m a bit hesitant to handicap today’s games but, hey, why not? Bloggers are supposed to give their half-baked opinions on the news of the day, right?
Okay, so I’ll take Green Bay over Chicago in one of the best games all years and Pittsburgh big over New York, which will set up an old-school Super Bowl that should make football fans everywhere quite happy. With luck, we’ll see plenty of retrospectives about the old Packers and Steelers teams, which would make be very happy. I’m a traditionalist. I like it when we appreciate the old stuff.
And now, links!
- I endorse this post at Red State. Fighting for the personhood of the unborn ought to be an important part of the Republican platform and the candidate who can not get behind that does not deserve our support.
- I hope we remember Kermit Gosnell as one of the blackest villains in American history. I also hope that we remember the progressive policies and government malfeasance that allowed him to kill and maim with the full blessing of the State in the name of “choice”. As Moe Lane succinctly writes, this story confirms everything pro-life people have been saying about the abortion industry and its supporters.
- All you need to know about the biases and agenda-pushing of today’s so-called journalists you can get from this Stacy McCain post on a political murder about which you’ve heard nothing.
- Welcome to the party, pals! For whatever it’s worth, there are a ton of very talented people making podcasts these days who earn next to nothing for doing so. Radio folks (and, by they way, they are not “pioneers”) who think they can just parachute into the market and make bank are going to be sorely surprised. (via Mediagazer)
- After more than a decade, the excellent British sci-fi comedy Red Dwarf is on the way back. I like what I’m reading here. The original Cat and Rimmer will come back (but not Holly), the new guy in charge wants an old-school feel, and he wants to film it in front of a live audience. These are all very good signs.
