Clearing the Browser Tabs – Rhetorically-Hypnotized Friday Edition
I’d like to say that this post is a couple hours late because I was adding late-breaking links to it or because I was unavoidably detained doing some critical work for a client. The truth is…heated rhetoric is to blame. I was all set to put this post together last night when I heard a scrap of heated rhetoric. All reason fled and I became as an animal, like Nebuchadnezzar from the Book of Daniel. It was as if I had been hit by a nam-shub from Neal Stephenson’s Snow Crash.
But I got better, so there’s that.
And now, links!
- It’s tempting to dismiss Rep. Kevin Brady’s CUTS Act as small potatoes, but these days we should get behind any serious attempt to cut the Federal budget.
- Remember the days when there was no such thing as political vitriol? Neither do I.
- Stephen Green: “The Great White North — where irony goes to die…” And not just irony, either, but the ability to read song lyrics.
- Ed Driscoll has an early contender for the Post Title of the Year: “Weimar? Because We Reich You!”
- There is nothing you can’t do with the sufficient application of scientists and bottles of wine.
- Behold, the first man to ski down a moving iceberg. Honestly, I’m a bit surprised by that. I would have thought someone else would have done it by now.
