The Only Chart That Matters Right Now
Ed Morrissey posted this chart from Clusterstock last week, but I thought it worth a second look. As you hear various members of Congress and the President talk about tax deals and spending bills, “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”, bills to make kids eat lettuce in schools, and the START Treaty, remember that the big red line at the bottom of this chart isn’t getting much better.
At some point we the people must demand, in a voice loud enough for even Washington to hear, an end to the side-issues, greedy pork handouts, and all the other silly political games. Obviously, the election wasn’t a loud enough shout to catch the attention of Republicans or Democrats. The events of this week ought to tell us that we have not delivered our message in terms they can understand. So perhaps it’s time we made our intentions plan.
Fix this. Now.
