Clearing the Browser Tabs – Pigford Thursday Edition

| December 9, 2010 | Comments (2)

While our attention has been diverted by the President’s Grand Tax Compromise and the Democrats’ attempt to shove through a poorly-disguised illegal immigrant amnesty bill, the White House is quietly bilking us out of well over four billion dollars. The scheme is colloquially called “Pigford”, after the black farmer who rightly sued the Federal government for discrimination in 1997. Instead of being a case wherein wronged black farmers received the justice they deserved, however, Pigford has become a morass of corruption, lies, and rank racial politics. Andrew Breitbart and his team at Big Government have published several stories on the case, including a thorough introduction to the scheme, statements from USDA officials who have firsthand knowledge of fraudulent claims and government abuse, and an interview with a black farmer who is willing to go on the record about the corruption he saw around Pigford. The entire list of stories the site has done on Pigford in the past week is here and I recommend you check back often. Dirty work has been done, in our name and with our money, and we need to see it exposed.

FYI, part of the space capsule mission was to toss a few objects out the back while in space; physical proof that they'd achieved the orbit they claimed. Plus, they could bill others for a fraction of their mission cost, as satellite launching service. So there are now half a dozen nanosats in orbit courtesy of SpaceX. A pretty low orbit, though, which means they'll only be up there for a month or so.
