Feds Arrest Man Who Was Planning Attack on DC Subway System. No Word If He’s Catholic or Lutheran Yet.

Whether we like it or not, there’s still a war on.

Authorities say a Virginia man took surveillance footage of three Metro stations in Arlington and passed the images to federal investigators posing as al Qaeda operatives as part of a sting operation to designed to disrupt attacks authorities say the man was planning.

Farooque Ahmed was taken into custody Wednesday on charges of attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. The indictment, unsealed in Alexandria’s federal court, says he was preparing a plan to cause the highest number of casualties with the goal of targeting as many military personnel on the Metro system as possible.

Ahmed’s targets were all in Virginia: the Metro stations at Arlington Cemetery, Courthouse, and Pentagon City. He also suggested a fourth bombing at the Crystal City Metro station. According to his plan, the attacks would take place between 4:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M., in the middle of rush hour, to maximize the number of dead and wounded and were in the works for next year. He recommended using suitcases, instead of backpacks (perhaps because it would be easier to find people who didn’t have to blow themselves up to accomplish their goal).

We can assume, based on MSM and the latest government reports about domestic terrorism, that Ahmed was a good Catholic man, possibly a right-wing member of a local Tea Party. He may well have had several Gasden flags and watched Fox News regularly. I urge you to be on the lookout for people with similar characteristics, just in case they’re in on the plot. You can never be too careful around those American Taliban these days!
