The Delivery Presents – History and “Heat”, Intelligence and Honor

Every once in a while, a show surprises me by how easily it all comes together. This week’s Episode 61 fit that bill, even though at the beginning it seems like I’ve completely forgotten how to speak English. Yes, I realize I could have started over, but we don’t roll that way on The Delivery. Short of a full-on technical disaster, we roll the show itself on one take and what happens, happens. Hey, at least I haven’t done the show drunk!

I enjoyed the first half immensely, not only because I got to bust the chops of a couple left-wing ideologues whose chops need regularly busted but also because I got to talk about what I consider the core belief of the progressive movement. I am surprised sometimes how easily folks fall for the conceit of “I’m smarter than you, so I should be in charge” from politicians who would never fall for it if someone else told them the same thing. Perhaps it’s a sign of how far down the progressive’s total government control road we’ve gone that we don’t recognize that sentiment when we hear it.

If you don’t follow Kurt Schlichter on Twitter, you really should. He’s one of the smarter and most entertaining folks there (though I’ll warn you, he’s not always SFW!). His piece on the movie “Heat” at Big Hollywood is the best tribute I’ve read to a movie I like very much and that’s where we started our second-half talk. From there, we wandered through several movies where honor and loyalty ruled the day and, somehow, got on the subject of Persians with nipple-rings. You’ll like the trip from good to strange. Trust me.

PROGRAMING NOTE: The show that would normally happen on Tuesday, November 2 is going to be delayed until Wednesday, November 3. I’ll be working as an election judge the entire day, as is my wont, and I won’t get home until very late. SMP Mike and I will give a certain time for when the live show will start on the 3rd, so watch the websites!
