Think You’re Safe? Think Again.
We should probably take this threat seriously.
WASHINGTON - The terror group tied to the Ft. Hood killings and the Christmas Day undies airbomber urge wannabe American jihadis to open fire on crowded restaurants in the nation’s capital to massacre U.S. government workers.
The advice appears in “Inspire,” the latest issue of a slick propaganda publication by Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, Osama Bin Laden’s franchise in Yemen.
“A random hit at a crowded restaurant in Washington, D.C., at lunch hour might end up knocking out a few government employees,” Yahya Ibrahim writes in the 74-page jihadi how-to magazine.
“Targeting such employees is paramount and the location would also give the operation additional media attention,” Ibrahim added.
That you don’t need a sophisticated bomb or a big truck to kill a lot of people on a crowded sidewalk or in a restaurant is not at all a big secret. The Islamists have been doing just that in Israel, murdering women and children and tourists regularly, for years. We’re not nearly as observant as we should be and we continue to hold on to our ridiculous PC sensibilities that prevent us from clearly identifying the place from which the threats will most likely come. At some point, those sensibilities will cost us more than a few lives.
It’s also worth noting that “Inspire” is the magazine in which the dirtbag Anwar al-Awlaki (whose religious counseling inspired the latest rash of murders and murder attempts from nerwly-radicalized Islamists) launched the fatwa against Molly Norris that caused her to flee her entire life. This cancer in our healthy country has nothing at all to do with free speech nor multicultural pleasantries but with a direct assault on free modern civilization. It wouldn’t make me particularly sad if he had a sudden meeting with a fast-moving car bumper. I’d certainly not insist on much of a police investigation.
