Next Up for Gillibrand, Chair of the Senate Committee on Pole-Dancing?

I bet when Kirsten Gillibrand learned she had been appointed to replace Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate, she has all sorts of visions about how it would be. She’d get to sit at the table with powerful veteran Democratic politicians as an equal, one of a powerful majority whose ideas for making America stronger and more noble would be taken seriously. She would sacrifice her principles to remain loyal to the party which leaders would, in turn, reward her with greater respect.

Well, Senator, welcome to reality.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid had an unusual form of praise for New York’s junior senator, Kirsten Gillibrand, this morning at the fundraiser Mayor Bloomberg hosted for him at his townhouse – referring to her as “the hottest member” as she sat just a few feet away, according to three sources.

The comment prompted Gillibrand to turn red, according to the sources, and created a bit of stir among the small crowd there.

Of course, Reid also said she was smart at some policy stuff or other and that she’s “effective” but that’s not what he said she was “known for”. I wonder if he kept the leering and winking to a minimum with her sitting right there.

So, great job Senator selling out to the likes of Reid and the rest of his Democratic good old boys. You may have a perfectly functioning brain, but obviously they don’t think it’s one of your most important assets. Feel fortunate he let you wear shoes and come out of the kitchen.
UPDATE: It was only a joke, tee hee hee! So it all works out okay. Senator Reid gets vindication and Spokesmodel, err, Senator – so sorry! — Gillibrand gets invited back to the big-money fundraisers.

So long as she wears those stiletto heels and the short skirt that Schumer likes to much.
