Gilligan Was Not to be Found

I tweeted about this gut-churning video a couple of days ago, but for those of you who have not embraced the marvelous social media world of Twitter, let me present it here. The video is a compilation of closed-circuit surveillance videos on a cruise ship that suddenly encountered a storm that produces seas over 21 feet and 50 knot winds. Please don’t watch this right after lunch.

Watch the center column at about the :45 mark for a rather jarring example of how drastically the ship was pitching. Also, the last bit with the forklift is pretty scary.

The cruise line reportedly offered its guests a 25-percent discount on a future cruise. That strikes me as a really bad PR move.
