Stephanie Miller, Aisha Tyler, and Michelle Malkin Walk Into a Bar*

| August 12, 2010 | Comments (9)

I will disagree with Michelle Malkin on only one point in her post on the vulgarity of left wing female comics: Stephanie Miller and Aisha Tyler are not comedians. Miller is a fifth-rate talk and game show host and Aisha Tyler is a moderately-successful character actress. Oh sure, they may have done a spot of stand-up here or there (though I can’t find any evidence that they have), but there’s a reason they’re not making their living at comedy (like, say Jim Norton, who has a number of television and movie appearances but regularly returns to stand-up). Miller and Tyler know funny about as well as they know string theory.

Here’s a little tip from someone who enjoys a good stand-up routine. If you feel a compelling desire to mount a nigh-hysterical defense of your “joke”, then it wasn’t a joke and you’re not a real comedian. A real comedian doesn’t go back and try to explain a joke that bombs. They give up on it and make sure their next joke is twice as funny.

I don’t hold out any great hope for the Miller/Tyler Radio Comedy Juggernaut. They’d probably screw up a knock-knock joke.

*I really don’t have a punchline for the joke begun in the post title. It’d probably end with Miller and Tyler limping out of the bar holding their freshly-kicked nuts. In a sack. *slaps his knee in laughter* Whoo! That’s funny right there, huh?

I hear you, but I hestitate to call ANYONE on the Left a comedian. Their idea of "humor" is, at best, operating on a first grade level. Which is why they love Jon Stewart. Some mugging for the camera, a few grade school snarks and they think he's a genius.

As for the punchline, given the feeble minds of Miller and Tyler versus Michelle's razor-sharp intellect and wit, how else could it end?

Odd to hear the outrage coming from people that constantly refer to any liberal, with silly nicknames, as children in the first grade.

  3. Buck Bagaw says:

These "comediennes" are not funny, just mean. But then, they are playing to their targeted audience.

I listened hat morning when Aisha was on (I usually don't listen to that show) but OMG that girl was absolutely hilarious.

Shocking? Yes. Foul-mouthed? I suppose. But I was just cracking up. I didn't realize how funny Aisha was. I don't know if they could reproduce that crazy morning because it seemed like everyone was just a little loopy and firing on the same wavelength.

I really don't remember it being very political so if you're one of those folks that must hate your political opponent and call them unfunny, ugly, stupid, etc… Trust me. You're just missing out on a lot of enjoyment in life.

Of course you could just watch Larry King and watch Aisha tear Ann Coulter a new a**hole.

You are PATHETIC. Stephanie Miller has a vry successful national talk show that is hilarious on most occasions. The most hilarious segments are usually those aimed at right wing morons (are they're any other kind ?) such as Michelle Maulkin. By the way the most famous right wing comedian working is Dennis Miller & he is the least funny comedian working.

It's funny how libs argue, never facts, only attack with names. Stephanie Miller attacking "right wing morons" has got to be the most ironic statement one can make. Stephanie is probably the least informed, unintellectual person on talk radio. Every debate she gets into with conservatives she gets chewed up and exposed for her lack of intellect. I've listenedd to her show, and its like many others have said, amateur hour on talk radio. Even libs recognize her lack of intellect and protect by stating she is a comedian, but the problem is she is not funny. How do you go through a show and fake laugh on every other sentence? She can't complete a thought without doing her quirky, odd laugh even when its not warranted. Its very difficult to listen to her.
