Utah’s Bennett: Silly Conservatives and Their Silly Constitution
Gosh, I can’t imagine why conservatives had some serious disagreements with Senator Robert Bennett. He has such a keen grasp on the first principles of conservatism!
JUDY WOODRUFF: Bennett sees the Tea Party and other conservative citizens groups as demanding more than he is prepared to do.
SEN. ROBERT BENNETT: I found that a good many of the delegates simply wouldn’t talk to me. They were so angry, so determined to — quote — “send Washington a message” — close quote — that coming to one of my events to hear what I had to say on any of these things was — simply, they wouldn’t do.
And many of them who did come, they would hold up their copy of the Constitution, and they would say, if it’s not in the Constitution, you shouldn’t do it.
Well, I’m not quite ready to go that far in my conservative views.
Bennett’s problem is that he bought into the lie that Congress exists to solve our problems. If he’d spent a little more time reading the Constitution (where Congress’ mission is cleverly hidden in plain sight) and less time bedazzling his Captain Bipartisanship cape, he wouldn’t be boxing up his stuff in November.

The Problem with Bennett is the same problem that happens to a lot of people who go to the Fish Bowl of Washington DC. They all share the same bowl so they all start seeing it as protecting their private little kingdom from the dangerous outside fish. The Only problem is that becomes a Us against them mindset where the we the citizens become the bad them.
Sometimes you have to scrub the fish bowl of Washington DC clean of all the crap they have have built up which the fish living in the bowl resist violently aka Bob Bennett.

Man, Bob Bennett is quickly moving to the top of my most disliked list. I don’t think I’ve seen such a case of sour grapes since Al Gore lost.
He is not only acting like an infant, he is actively playing the part of saboteur of the conservative momentum heading into what could be a huge wave election. I wish he would just stop talking, if not to help Republicans regain Congress, then just to preserve his own reputation.
this just proves that he is and always will be a rino. his people have spoken and they don’t want his representation. he put himself on a pedestal and now he is dumbfounded by the people taking him down. now he doesn’t know what to do with himself. please shut up and go away.
