He Had Me At “Sloth and Flatulence” (Also, Nancy Pelosi is a Weak-Kneed Coward).

I almost never quote entire blog entries. I prefer to find some good nugget, then give you the link so that you can read the whole thing in its original habitat. That’s not only good blogging, it’s also good manners. However, when I read this post on Ricochet by site co-founder Rob Long, I knew I’d have to give you the whole thing.

Rob saw that Nancy Pelosi and her band of merry pirates in the House, faced with a long debate with Republicans over why we should pass a budget of nearly $4 billion that would hit our debt like a fat man catapulted at a cherry tomato, simply hand-waved it into being. His rant is, well, epic.

Of course: it’s Friday afternoon, on a holiday weekend. Look what Nancy Pelosi is trying to bury:

The House failed to come up with a budget. They failed, utterly, to do the one thing they’re specifically tasked to do. But that didn’t stop them.

They “deemed” one into existence, and then they “deemed” it passed.

What spineless toads! What useless bags of bones! What inspirations of cowardice and feckless do-nothingism! Irrelevant, pompous, lazy, crooked, dishonest, shiftless lumps of animal turd! May they suffocate in their own sloth and flatulence! Thieves, each and every one of them. Frauds and mice, the 215 Democrats who voted for this criminally negligent piece of non-legislation. The entire sick, decrepit, on-the-take, creepy lot of them — the human oil spill that is the Democratic House Majority — should crawl on their scaly, reptllian bellies and beg forgiveness for their derelict, chicken-hearted shirking of the one damn thing they’re supposed to do! And we shouldn’t give it to them. No. Never. Never. Never. Never. Never. They’re a craven, appalling, inexcusable insult to all Americans who do their jobs and pay their taxes. And especially to the men and women in uniform who do theirs.

If the Founders came back today, two hundred thirty-four years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and got a look at the Democratic House Leadership, they’d throw up and never stop.

If you don’t know what “deemed” is in this context, let me explain. Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic majority simply voted that the budget that would normally have been subjects to rigorous debate and amendments now simply exists, as if all that democracy stuff had actually happened. Before this year, the “deeming” process had been used to reconcile small differences between bills proposed by the House and Senate, to save time in cases when the outcome was never seriously in doubt. It was a convenience. It had never been used for a major bill and certainly had never, ever been used to shove the biggest budget in the history of the country down our throats.

What the Democrats did today was perhaps the most cowardly act of legislative malfeasance I have ever seen. But what else do you expect from a Congress led by a woman who thinks that unemployment payments are the best way we have to create jobs? Rob was, if anything, too lenient on the maroons who today decided to run their copies of the Constitution through the shredder in a gutless attempt to avoid hard questions. Well, folks, I hope you’re paying attention. November is coming, and there’s plenty of room for you to grab a pitchfork and torch and join the “angry mobs”.

Thank you to the good person who runs the Ricochet Twitter feed for giving me the go-ahead to post the whole thing.

I sense some displeasure with the Good Speaker, yet the post is rife with ambiguity.
