Excuse Me, New Jersey, Can I Borrow Your Governor A While?
I wonder if Chris Christie wouldn’t mind serving as Governor of Maryland, too. I mean, just listen to him take a horribly-biased question and yank it right the heck out of the park.
Dave Weigel, the guy the Washington Post sent forth to tell their readers all about those strange and vicious creatures known as conservatives, delivers a gentle chiding to conservatives for cheering Christie and not cheering President Obama when he takes a similar tone. There are, however, important differences. First, as Weigel notes, Obama rode into office as a guy who would “change the tone of Washington”, who would bring in a new era of fluffy-cloud bipartisanship while being one of the most ardent partisans in Washington. Christie, on the other hand, won election handily on a platform of confrontation. He is there to push back against the Democratic legislature and their wealthy interest groups who are sucking the state dry. No one who voted for Chris Christie expected him to be a glad-hander. President Obama, on the other hand, professes to be a “uniter” but instead takes every available opportunity to kick private citizens in the kidneys (c.f. Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, the Tea Party movement, anti-Obamacare protesters, etc.). Conservatives are right to condemn the President for his petulance and to praise Christie for doing exactly what he promised in his campaign.
I’m with Jehuda on this. We need a Chris Christie Genome Project.

I love Chris Christie! Can politicians have groupies? (And no, the Obamabots don't count–they're cult members, not groupies.)
