He's not my president and nor is he acting like that.
>Unable to act like an adult and either respond/refute the criticism or just ignore her?
He did all of that in his response. He pointed out that she doesn't know what she's talking about and that he gets advice from people who do.
>So she’s an “Alaskan air-head” who writes simple messages on her hand and is a loser who can’t run her own family…..and why can’t you’re hero just ignore her?
He's hardly my hero and he does ignore her, it was the interviewer who brought her and her "criticism" up.
>Why does he feel it necessary to respond to every little thing she says?
He doesn't he did however feel it necessary to respond to a question asked in an interview.
You do understand that's what happened here right? He was asked a question and he answered it... why are you having so much trouble understanding that rather simple scenario? Perhaps you should read the article again and make an effort at comprehension.

>And again…you want your president acting like that??

He's not my president and nor is he acting like that.

>Unable to act like an adult and either respond/refute the criticism or just ignore her?

He did all of that in his response. Yes... it is. That's why I didn't say it.
>What’s more puerile behavior? Palin giving political criticism of a policy decision or Obama playing “I know you are but what am I?”
Um well the second thing but Obama didn't say that so not really sure of what your point is.
>w/ a woman he and the rest of the left barely regard as having any contribution above that of an average 2 year old?
Who says that?
>If she is so silly & inept, what is the point of even responding to anything she says other than the fact that Mr. Prez’s gargantuan ego can’t accept anything less than full submission from all his subjects and he’s willing to issue the most childish, play-ground taunts until he get’s his baby way?
He was asked a direct question in an interview and he gave a simple, clear, fact-based answer. Are you suggesting that Palin is an expert on nuclear policy?
>You all must be so proud of Mr. Intelligent’s super-smart put downs – because it kind of obscures the fact that he really isn’t all that smart either.
No, it was a pretty weak put down actually, far too polite, I would have said something like "Who cares what the loser thinks? If she wants to set policy than I suggest she run for President but she can't run her own family, she was under how many ethics investigations when she quit again? She can't remember simple things like 'lower taxes' without writing them on her hand? C'mon George who cares what the Alaskan airhead thinks about anything? I tell you we had such a party when McCain announced her as VP. At first we we're all 'whoo?' and then when we found out we we're all 'Yeaaah!. We were totally worried the GOP was going to come up with someone another Cheney but damn, a stupider lightweight than Quayle? What were they thinking?"

>Oh, so his advisers agree w/ him so everyone else should just shut up? Did you watch the clip and see the bit after where he says that his military advisers agree with him? Do you think they know more or less than Palin about the issue? Did you realize that Palin’s critique is pretty puerile and shows clearly and once again that her grasp of the issue is rather limited?

isPermaLink="false">http://www.sundriesshack.com/?p=12269#comment-689747

Ok, so you don't know what the term "gaffe" means, we'll start there, the dictionary definition:
1. A clumsy social error; a faux pas: "The excursion had in his eyes been a monstrous gaffe, a breach of sensibility and good taste" (Mary McCarthy).
2. A blatant mistake or misjudgment.
I assume you're looking at definition 2. What did Obama say?
“Last I checked, Sarah Palin’s not much of an expert on nuclear issues.”
Now while I confess I don't know everything about Sarah Palin I don't recall anyone, even her biggest fans on Fox or elsewhere suggesting that she's an expert in anything much less nuclear issues. There is nothing in her educational, professional or personal background that even hints of her having any more knowledge on nuclear issues than your average citizen. If there is something in her CV that shows otherwise no one has mentioned it
So is it in any way possible to suggest that Obama's statement is "a blatant mistake or misjudgment" when he says that Sarah Palin doesn’t know a lot about nuclear issues?
Clearly not, so not a gaffe, you are wrong.
So when you say "It’s a gaffe because he one of the last people who should be bringing topical ignorance into the discussion, as he demonstrated in his campaign (links provided)."
What you mean to say is that he's been a bit of a hypocrite and you'd be wrong once again.
If you watch the whole thing he then says that he has advisers WHO ARE experts and they signed off on it. He's clearly saying that he listens to people who know about this stuff rather than people who don't.
Now if you want to offer a smart rebuttal to his statement you could say "Big deal, those advisers, they work for him, he's the President! What? They're going to so say no?" and then you could possibly read the treaty and offer some substantial criticism based on fact rather than naked partisan nonsense.
But that smacks of effort so we'll speak of it no more.
You'll stick to the simple stuff like:
>as he demonstrated in his campaign (links provided).
In the year and some since the campaign it's expected that Obama has learnt more about nuclear issues, he would have certainly been briefed not only by the outgoing administration but the military as well. He would also have at his fingertips the vast resources and accumulated knowledge of decades of experience and countless experts to draw on so he’d ramp up pretty quick.
So it’s all but certain that he has more knowledge on nuclear issues than Palin who spent the time since the campaign being on TV and quitting her job.

Ok, so you don't know what the term "gaffe" means, we'll start there, the dictionary definition:

1. For the record, CAD/USD was at 0.93 back in 2007.
I guess equity markets love Muslim Socialism. But please regale us with stories of how the bond markets despise the Kenyan.

I guess you can't remember as far back as earlier this week when you said that CAD/USD hadn't below 1.00 in your memory (apparently indicating negative market reaction to the economic of policies of the Kenyan Muslim Terrorist Socialist).

For the record, CAD/USD was at 0.93 back in 2007.

I guess equity markets love Muslim Socialism.
