It Is Finished

Kathryn Lopez pretty much says everything I can say about the passage of the totalitarian Obamacare bill tonight that doesn’t involve a curse word.

Congratulations, Democrats. Beginning now, you own the health-care system in America. Every hiccup. Every complaint. Every long line. All yours.

I predict a lot of people are going to be surprised over the next couple of years once all the new taxes, surcharges, and fees kick in.

UPDATE: A note, for posterity. Opposition to totalitarian health care was bipartisan.

UPDATE 2: Here’s the final roll call vote. I want to point out that Minority Leader John Boehner wanted this vote out loud, but the Democrats refused. It’s okay for them to pass the bill, but not to do so proudly and openly.

UPDATE 3: The best place to see what’s really in the Obamacare bill, and the reconciliation bill that Pelosi has promised the Senate will pass whole hog, is at Open Congress. This blog post contains about a ton of pure hooey (Obamacare is government-run health care. If government bureaucrats decide when, where, and how you get care, it’s government-run. period), but the site is an excellent resource for researching the bill and linking to particular sections.
