The Delivery Presents: The Bunning Brouhaha and Matt Kibbe on The Dead and Freedom
Episode 27 of The Delivery is available, hot off the podcasting presses. The link’s at the bottom of the post and, as ever, you may listen to it now or download it so you can snuggle up with it later today in a warm and happy place. Remember also the show airs on Radio for Conservatives on Wednesday night at 9 PM (new site, live chatroom!) and is also syndicated, with its very own page, on the fine Liberty Pundits website.
My guest this week is Matt Kibbe, the president and CEO of FreedomWorks. I had heard quite a lot about Matt from Tabitha Hale, who also works at FreedomWorks and finally had the chance to meet him at CPAC. It took about ten seconds of hearing him talk before I asked him to come on the show. He’s an economist and a hard-core Grateful Dead fan and we cover both those subjects, as well as the notion that entrepreneurs aren’t necessarily in it for the money. Matt is an interesting guy and I think you’ll enjoy meeting him.
The first half of the show is, I admit here and now, a bit of a downer. Not only did I take some time to unravel the truth about the Jim Bunning Hates Everybody story, but I also got into Haiti a bit. Taking about conditions in Haiti, not just the mind-numbing death and poverty but also the way the United States has largely ignored how bad things are there, tends to make me angry and that happened a bit on the show. I think it’s important to remember we have a responsibility to give real and lasting help wherever we can and Haiti is right there. It wouldn’t take much to give them a real leg up out of the deep pit they’ve been in for a very long time, now would it? Remember also that my friend Tabitha is still there and could use your help.
