Later, the Words “Senator Boogerbrain” Were Bandied About.

This weekend I got to watch some clips from last Thursday’s health care summit meeting  and this exchange between President Obama and Senator McCain stood out as emblematic of the entire day.

The left characterized that as an “ooh, burn!” moment, which I suppose it would be if Obama and McCain were second-graders on the playground. I suppose we should congratulate the President for having the mature restraint not to accuse McCain of having cooties, too.

The President’s immaturity really isn’t my point, though. That’s obvious. What is less obvious is this: Only one of the two men involved in that exchange is running for President in 2012 and it’s not the guy who was accused of campaigning. The man who is campaigning probably wanted to shift the discussion away from the mountain of tawdry backroom deals necessary to bring this progressive Holy Grail to the point where it barely beats pond scum in most opinion polls.
Nice Deb has a very good roundup of reasonable reactions to the President’s petulance. I like her take on McCain’s reaction.

  1. Give the man a break… as George once said, when you wander around the desert for a long time, as Obama did when he hung in Kenya with his rapist wit brother, the nose tends to get dry and you have to clean house.

The left characterized that as an “ooh, burn!” moment,

Well I'm glad the left is enjoying Obama putting everyone in their place. I hope they will still have fond memories of it when they can't even help their fake Jesus in getting re-elected because he "oh, burned!!" everyone he's come in contact with, out side of a handful of left-wing radicals who will support him to their death.

Personally, his habit of talking to everyone as if they were a child is extremely grating…especially coming from someone w/ such limited real-world experience. He is doing himself no favors by not treating people like the adults that they are.
