Enough Winter Already. Spring Training is Here!
If you are one of the approximately ten bazillion people who are sick and tired of winter, there is hope. Pitchers and catchers reported for Spring Training today, which means that spring is right around the corner. Chico Harlan is on the scene in Florida with the news from Day One of Washington National spring training.
Now, I’m much of a fan of Major League Baseball, or as I’ve thought of it lately “The Game Bud Selig is Killing”, but I love my Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. The team has been busy been signing players already in anticipation of another successful season and should get things geared up in earnest in a couple of months. Last year, they made it as far as the Atlantic League Championship, but couldn’t get past the Somerset Patriots. The season ended on a very sour note, with a contentious series that involved a profane outburst from Patriots’ manager Sparky Lyle for which he only got a gentle pat on the wrist.
It ought to be a good season.
