CPAC ’10 Comes In With a Bang, Goes Out With a Twist
Thanks to a little slip on some ice while going to my car in the parking lot of my friendly neighborhood Metro Station I know have a pretty painful ankle. As a result, I may be a no-show for tomorrow’s full day of events at CPAC. I didn’t actually sprain my ankle, but I gave it a nice twist and, since I have had trouble with this ankle in the past, a day of rest may be the best thing for it. I’ll have to re-evaluate things in the morning, after a night of rest and a little medicine.
Today was an interesting day. Not only did we have two surprise guests, but I have it on very good authority that there are more surprises to come over the next two days. I’m not quite sure where you go after Dick Cheney and Scott Brown. That’s an awful lot of conservative star power. Maybe they’ll cook up something involving Rachel Maddow, who finds CPAC utterly irresistible.
Okay, now for the bloggers who brought some great stuff today. Be sure to hit Stacy McCain’s blog, where both he and Smitty scored two good interviews with Marco Rubio and Ed Morrissey and did some other socializing. Da Tech Guy, who is easily one of the neatest people I’ve ever met, spent much of the day interviewing regular folks at CPAC (and Dick Armey), as well as a couple of my blogging friends Steve of No Runny Eggs and Skye of Midnight Blue. Hit his blog and scroll like the wind. He was a very busy man today.
Moe Lane had a couple interviews with Republicans candidates Rick Barber (AL-02) and Joel Pollack (IN-09). Solid journalism there. Duane Lester and the rest of the RFC crew was there today, though serious technical problems kept them off the air (a situation they hope to have remedied tomorrow). He’ll be at the big Reaganpalooza on Saturday. That should be a party you won’t want to miss if you’re one of the mighty horde of conservative activism.
Oh, and yes, folks, CPAC still has the most beautiful women in one place I’ve ever seen. Evidence? Dude. Who are you reading here? Of course I have evidence.
That’s my friend Cheryl, who is far prettier in person than in this photo.
UPDATE: I talked to a few people who could have benefitted greatly from reading my Rookie’s Rough Guide to CPAC, but they didn’t know about it. Apparently, I’m not getting the sort of linky love I should be. You can remedy that. Spread the good word (and the useful information. Seriously, there’s actually useful information there.)

1) She looks quite lovely in the picture.
2) Listen to the Vodkapundit my friend – he's a wise, wise man, I can tell you, having been a professional drinker myself for over thirty years.
3) Thanks for the work you're doing for keeping us who can't attend informed. I'll be looking for you on C-SPAN.
Oh no! I was looking for you this morning. Heal up buddy!
It is firmly established that conservative women are hot.
Democrat women are not.
