It’s Official. I’m Official!
Tomorrow morning I’ll be at CPAC, as one of the credentialed bloggers rampaging around covering the goings on with decorum and impeccable manners. As long-time readers will remember from last year’s venture into the Conservative Woodstock, I probably won’t hit many of the speeches and panel discussions. However, I will be meeting quite a few people I’ve never been before and I’ll be blogging my adventures over the next three days. I’m excited to see what new hotness RedState had brought to Bloggers’ Row. As well, there’s a blogger reception happening Thursday night and, as much as I’m not a party animal, it sounds like a lot of fun (and grist for a pretty good post). Stay tuned.
My “Rookie’s Rough Guide to CPAC” went over very well around the blogosphere and on Twitter. Thank you to everyone who linked to it and gave me two of the best traffic days I’ve had in a long time. Bob Belvedere, Steve of No Runny Eggs, and the Rhetorician were especially kind.
If you’re not into all the standing on line, though, Stacy McCain has an alternate strategy for getting into those crowded speeches. I know his method works, because I’ve seen it, but it takes a certain level of chutzpah I don’t possess. Stacy, however, has it in spades. Give it a try. Who knows what could happen? Either you’ll get inside or you’ll get thrown out. Either one would make a great story to tell the kids later!
For those of you who won’t be rubbing shoulders with the bold and bloggy in DC, you can see most of the speeches thanks to Town Hall’s live streaming feed.
Oh, and don’t forget to wish Troglopundit a Happy Blogging Birthday. The man has chops and he ought to get the million hits he wants. He’s probably only a couple hundred thousand short by now so get to clicking!
