The Delivery Presents: Tea Parties, The Third Awakening, and a Big Plate of Crow

Episode 24 of The Delivery is in the pipe five by five, ready for your enjoyment. You can listen to it via…the the little doohickie at the bottom of this post! Also, download it with a right-click on this link or, as always, grab the iTunes subscription here.

In show news, I’ll be making a few changes to how the show is presented over the next couple or three weeks. We’re moving away from the Take That Radio Production theme as SuperMegaProducer Mike moves more into the pure producer role. You probably won’t notice any real changes in the show, except that there may be another bell or whistle here or there. I’m also working on an exciting new way of getting the show into the ears of more listeners. There will be more to say on that later.

Ed Driscoll is my guest this week. We decided to do a little political talk, which is a little bit of a change since I tend to have my guests on for the second, non-political half. But Ed had a great post on how the Tea Party movement resembles the Third Great Awakening about which Tom Wolfe wrote back in the 70s and I couldn’t resist having him on to kick the idea around. I think we roamed down some interesting paths. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Oh, and since my Super Bowl prediction was really wrong, I did the responsible thing and ate my plate of hot, steaming crow. I also talked a bit of hockey. The story I mentioned about the Capitals fan who walked four miles and took a cab another 19 to get to the game is here. It’s worth a read.

Love this interview!! I supported the Colts, until I found that Obama gave his support..then I knew they were gonna lose.

The TeaParty movement is working to remake the Republican party, not forming a third party.
