It ought to be a given that no self-respecting human being would go out of their way to praise Jesse Jackson. Jackson is an anti-Semitic racist with strong ties to another anti-Semitic racist, Louis Farrakhan, who makes his living off of shaking down companies for cash. He is a despicable figure in American politics and, as Philip Klein suggests, he should be shunned off the public stage.
Carly Fiorina, who is running to be the Republican Senatorial nominee from California apparently believes otherwise. She went out of her way at least twice to praise Jackson, going so far as to say,
…in the past 40 years, there are very few people who have used their talent along lines of excellence to achieve more things for more people in more places than Reverend Jackson. And we are all better off for his leadership.
Fiona claims to be a conservative. Well, no conservative I know holds an overt racist and Jew-hater in such high regard. No conservative I know would give a flagship speech at Jackson’s Shake Down, Inc meetings. She needs to come up with a better explanation for her glowing endorsement than “well of course I don’t agree with him”, because her actions sure do say otherwise.
(Disclaimer. I will have Chuck DeVore on my podcast this coming week. Though I am leaning toward DeVore to win the Republican nomination in the CA Senate race, I have not picked anyone for certain. If Ms. Fiorina wants to come on the podcast to talk about things other than politics, I’d be glad to have her!)

Let’s not, however, forget Al Sharpton who is cut from the same cloth: racist, anti-Semite, extortionist, thug. Why do conservatives like Sean Hannity give Sharpton a regular forum that cloaks him in legitimacy?
