Why’d He Kill Those People? Heck if The Pentagon Cares.

I’d like to say I’m surprised by the the purposeful blindness displayed by the Pentagon toward the entire notion that Major Hasan’s religion might have had ever the teensiest but to do with his murderous rampage at Fort Hood, but I really can’t.

The U.S. military’s just-released report into the Fort Hood shootings spends 86 pages detailing various slipups by Army officers but not once mentions Major Nidal Hasan by name or even discusses whether the killings may have had anything to do with the suspect’s view of his Muslim faith. And as Congress opens two days of hearings on Wednesday into the Pentagon probe of the Nov. 5 attack that left 13 dead, lawmakers want explanations for that omission.

This is not Political Correctness, but suicide. PC was all fun and games when the only thing at stake was someone’s feelings. When we changed our language not because the words we were using were wrong or impresice but because we were too gutless to stand up to those who abused our language for their own comfort, we made it ever so easy for others to abuse us.
