Forty Quotes from the Mainstream Left to Make You Shake Your Head
I can’t imagine how long it took John Hawkins to compile this list of “The 40 Most Obnoxious Quotes of 2009″ but I’m certainly glad he did. No matter how obnoxious I’ve been this year, I’m positive I’ve not said anything that would put me within a parsec of this list. Here are a few glittering gems of arrogance and/or cluelessness.

What makes the list so amazing is that, with only a couple examples, these are not fringe figures making crazy pronouncements from underneath tinfoil hats on a street corner. They are elected Democrats, progressive media figures making pretty hefty money to bring in a national audience, or interest groups on whom Democratic politicians wait hand and foot and they felt comfortable enough to say what they did. At some point, you would have thought that the Democrats might have pulled some of them aside and taught them about the responsibility half of the First Amendment, but no. That’s not going to happen for quite a while, I don’t imagine.
