Tasty Christmas Links and Stan Lee Reading Poetry!

Before I head over to my sister’s place for family-related Christmas celebrating, I wanted to leave you with some linky tidbits to put the warmth and joy of the season in you.

If you’ve ever been interested in knowing from whence many of our beloved Christmas carols came, William Tucker has a big platter of history for you. It’s fascinating reading. Dropping a few of these nuggets of knowledge at your Christmas gathering will definitely impress everyone there. Remember, you don’t have to be smart to sound smart (I know this from experience!).

I read the Nativity narrative from Luke Chapter 2 in the latest version of The Delivery (and you have subscribed, yes? How about a rating and maybe a nice comment, why not?). I probably should have asked Elizabeth Scalia, better known round the internet as The Anchoress, to do it. She has a wonderful voice and reads the story very, very well.

Moe Lane most definitely does not want a hippopotamus for Christmas, though he doesn’t mind those who express their desire for one in song.

Where is Santa right now? NORAD has him on their scopes. I assumed no missiles are trained on him right now. That would be bad.

This rendition of “Baby It’s Cold Outside” is for my brother. So is this one.

The last link is the best. How about the legendary Stan Lee himself reading “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas”? This may become a new Christmas tradition for me. It’s heartwarming, honest.
