I saw this video getting some buzz on Twitter, but I wanted to hold it until later today, so it would get maximum exposure at The Shack without other posts bumping it down the page.

How good is this video? It got the Allapundit half-smile of approval, which would amount to a full-on standing ovation from the rest of us. I’ll lay down a marker to say that it’s the best cover of this song I’ve ever heard (and I’m including this version, an amazing act of musicianship).

Some of you smarties out there are going to see the video title and start guessing about what you might hear. Don’t do that; you’ll only be wrong. Trust me — don’t even try to predict this one. Just watch, listen, and enjoy one of the cooler things you’ll ever see on the internet.

And with that I’ll wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving and take the evening off. My very best to you and yours. As I might say elsewhere, I hope your Thanksgiving Day is stuffed full of all the good stuff, none of the bad stuff, and some of the thankful stuff!

  1. By the way, am I the only one wearing a Jack Nicholson sized grin when Janice and Scooter made their appearances? I haven’t seen those two in a Muppet anything since the 80′s.

  2. Jimmie says:

It was good to see the whole Electric Mayhem together again. Who knew that Janice had all the lead guitar chops?

And Scooter….yeah. Very nice to see. Though I have to admit, I didn’t know about a third of those Muppets (though I detected otters from Emmitt Otter’s Jugband Christmas).
