Somewhere, deep in the bowels of CNN Headquarters, Wolf Blitzer’s team of earnest fact-checkers is working overtime.

I’m no fan of Saturday Night Live, but this skit is actually funny (even if they play the joke out one too many times). The real news, if you’re looking for the news angle, is that for the first time perhaps ever, SNL took a real shot at the President. It wasn’t a haymaker or anything, more like a nice little jab to the point of the upraised chin that rocked his head back. At least it was a sign that the folks at SNL are more interested in trying to be funny than they are becoming yet another section of the MSM’s Obama Praise Band.

Oh, one picky last point. At the beginning of the skit, the guy playing the President refers to the guy playing Hu Jintao as “President Jintao”. He should have called him “President Hu”, unless they were trying to make an incredibly subtle joke about the President’s ignorance.

    This is “permitted” humor. It makes it look like China really wants us to get our finances in order, that they are just another country, and the president (and his clique) isn’t working for them.

    @Bob,
    Yeah, the gag is delivered externally, but BHO’s weazlehood is on prominent display.

    If anything, the genius of the sketch is that it can be viewed subjectively on either side of the aisle as hammering/not hammering the POTUS.
