Maybe Red Eye Could Add a Weatherman?

How dominant is Fox News these days?

That’s a rhetorical question, really. Fox News owns the cable news market like Brett Favre owns the hearts of every announced on ESPN, and no other network is even close. Heck, no two networks can touch the ratings Rupert Murdoch’s baby is pulling down. Here’s an example of just how bad it is for CNN, CNN Headline News, and MS-NBC.

Red Eye is a news-related comedy show that runs at 3 A.M. You’d think that would translate into pretty dismal ratings and, compared to what FNC’s powerhouses get, you’re right. However, Red Eye is not only beating the lead-in show to CNN’s prime time programming, but it’s also beating all the morning shows, too.

If that’s not bad enough, Red Eye is beating them in total viewers and in the “money” 25-54 demographic. In other words, if you’re an advertiser, you’re better off spending your money on FNC at 3 A.M. than you are on MS-NBC or CNN at 6 A.M.

That, folks, is complete and utter ratings domination.

Anyone who hasn't given it a try yet needs to watch/DVR Red Eye. It is my favorite thing on Fox. The cover many of the same topics the Prime Time shows, but more irreverently. You get to see many Fox staff and pundits say things they would not normally say in prime time.
