Attention Gay Activists. Gay Activists, Please Report to Under Barack Obama’s Bus.
If you were one of those folks who thought that President Obama was going to roll back the military’s “don’t ask; don’t tell” policy, rest assured that he’s going to get right on that. In a while. You know, whenever he works his way down to it.
President Obama will focus “at the right time” on how to overturn the “don’t ask, don’t tell” ban on gays serving openly in the military, his national security adviser said Sunday.
“I don’t think it’s going to be — it’s not years, but I think it will be teed up appropriately,” retired Gen. James L. Jones said.
“Appropriately” is the polite way of saying “We got what we needed from you. We’ll get to you when we feel like it.” Take consolation in the knowledge that you’re not the only group he’s sucked dry and cast aside in his scant ten months in office.
What? You thought your cause was important to him? I mean, you didn’t expect that he meant what he said about how committed he was to it, did you?
Oh. Oh…I’m so sorry.
At least you won’t be alone under the Pragmatism Express. Be sure to get a good spot near the front axle and hold on tight so you’re not knocked under the wheels when the next group of suckers comes along.

[...] least “don’t ask; don’t tell” opponents can take solace that they’re not last on the Presidential priority list. That position is reserved for General Stanley McChrystal. Last weekend, McCrystal informed America [...]
Rolling back "don't ask, don't tell" would not allow gays to serve, just the opposite. Don't ask, don't tell stops the military from discharging service members for homosexual acts – unless they come forward themselves.
This is what I don't understand from the gay community – they are asking for it to be rescinded – and thus kick all gays out of military service at the discretion of their chain-of-command.
I know you are quoting the Washington Times there, and the important aside is "serving openly". But most liberal activists (apparently including our National Security Advisor – who should know better) intentionally use misleading language.
It's like when people tell me that I'm against "reproductive rights". My response is to ask who is stopping them from reproducing? I'm all for reproducing, it's the killing babies I would like to see stopped.
