I think the "you lie!" distraction may have actually worked in his favor. I mean, it wasn't even until this weekend when I finally heard a clip from that speech that didn't involve the "you lie!" portion. (Not that I was seeking it out anyhow.) But the other clips I heard, he is sounding more shrill & more angry by the minute. So I'm pretty sure that having the dreaded "you lie!" distraction probably only helped his cause.
