This Train is Bound for Wreckage, This Train…
Wooooo Woooooo! *kaCRASH*
Fifty-six percent (56%) of voters nationwide now oppose the health care reform proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s the highest level of opposition yet measured and includes 44% who are Strongly Opposed.
Just 43% now favor the proposal, including 24% who Strongly Favor it. …
If the plan passes, 26% of voters say the quality of care will get better, and 51% say it will get worse. In August, the numbers were 23% better and 50% worse.
Those numbers come hot on the heels of yet another big health care media event where his entire speech was overshadowed by one man yelling two words. You’d think that a Haven-sent communicator like our President could overcome a backbencher from the racist hinterlands of South Carolina (but what doesn’t comprise the racist hinterlands these days except maybe Massachusetts and California?). I guess the needle on his mojometer is quivering near “empty”. Maybe some arugula and multicolored potatoes will fill it up!
Let’s see what happens to the numbers after an all-Obama-all-the-time Sunday talking heads show blitz. With his luck, the Detroit Lions will break their 18-game losing streak, pushing him back to page A23 of every newspaper in the country again.

And you know what? I think the "you lie!" distraction may have actually worked in his favor. I mean, it wasn't even until this weekend when I finally heard a clip from that speech that didn't involve the "you lie!" portion. (Not that I was seeking it out anyhow.) But the other clips I heard, he is sounding more shrill & more angry by the minute. So I'm pretty sure that having the dreaded "you lie!" distraction probably only helped his cause.
