Nancy Pelosi Has Well and Truly Lost It, and That’s Dangerous.
Can anyone tell me what in the world Nancy Pelosi is talking about?
Asked at a news conference on Capitol Hill about the possibility of anti-government rhetoric leading to violence, Pelosi, D-Calif., started to choke up as she recalled violent episodes that took place in San Francisco.
“I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw — I saw this myself in the late ’70s in San Francisco, this kind of — of rhetoric was very frightening and it gave — it created a climate in which we — violence took place,” Pelosi said.
“And so I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made, understanding that — that some of the people — the ears it is falling on are not as balanced as the person making the statement might assume,” she said.
Pelosi is referring to the murders of San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk. They were killed by the former city supervisor Dan White who was ticked off that Moscone wouldn’t give him his old job back. Heated political rhetoric had nothing to do with the murders and Nancy Pelosi damned-well knows it. She was very politically San Francisco at that time, right smack in the middle of the whole political machine. Heck, her brother was a member of the Board of Supervisors just ten years before.
Let me tell you what’s dangerous. It’s not the people who have been taking to the streets for the past month non-violently exercising their free speech and discharging their responsibility as citizens to make sure their elected officials know what is expected of them. They are doing what citizens are supposed to do — what citizens have always done in our country. It’s possible that Nancy Pelosi took a blow on the head that disabled her two working brain cells and caused her to forget the past eight years, but it’s a lot more likely that she is so steeped in the arrogance of progressivism that she honestly thinks she’s the victim here. But she’s not. She’s part of the problem.
The real danger in this country right now are addle-pated fools like Pelosi who spout slanders against decent people like you and I breathe air. The danger is from a Democratic Party whose leaders and elder “statesmen” can not go two days without calling well over half the country stupid, racist tools.
People are getting pissed off that their legitimate grievances are not only being blown off by the likes of Pelosi, but that those grievances are summarily ruled out of bounds. They are getting more and more furious that such reasonable requests like making sure members of Congress read a bill before they vote on it, that they not spend eleventy bazillion dollars on half-baked programs that come pre-failed, or that they actually treat us not as vassals but as their bosses are met with unconscionable insults.
If Nancy Pelosi really wants to bring down the rhetorical heat, she can start by apologizing for her insane outburst today, then she can smack down Jimmy Carter, Van Jones, the Congressional Black Caucus and everyone else who has carelessly tossed around the word “racism” in the past couple of weeks. After that, she haul her narrow backside back to Congress and the agenda way the heck down. If she really wants bipartisan agreement, she needs to act like she’s interested in hearing what the other side has to say (and actually giving them some of what they want). That involves time and patience and the ability to give a little to get a little. Her problem is that, for the most part, she’s gotten everything she’s wanted for several years. Government has gotten bigger, more intrusive, and more like the progressive utopia she wants with every fiber of her being. And look where we are. At some point, she’s either going to have to face reality or have a mental breakdown. She can’t continue to live in her fantasy world, and she sure as heck can’t run the House with the “We won, bitches!” attitude she’s had since November and expect people not to feel backed into a corner.
If she decides to keep taking on the American people (and make no mistake, her policies are very unpopular), she’ll lose. Big time.
Of course, that means she’ll have to act like a responsible leader and not a partisan hack. I’m not at all sure she’s capable of doing that. But perhaps she’ll surprise me. Miracles have happened before.

I don't have a blog site yet.
I am in such agreement with you! I have been saying this for MONTHS and I'm getting to the point of distress.
All the things I am hearing lately I predicted, mentioned, or spoke outloud many months ago. I think I'm going to have to start my own blog site to get my thoughts out before the famous and outspoken get to it first.
Thanks for posting this blog. It is great, and I am glad to read that it is not just me who thinks this way.
However, to correct one thing: The combined brain capacity of the US Government is 2 brain cells, and they've ALL lost their minds.
Couldn't have said it better! She wants us all to stop but she's the one doing the name calling and the crazy left are the ones doing the violence.
Linked you. For a more fanciful take on Pelosi see this post.

I was living right outside the SF Bay area for most of the 1970's and we got our news from the SF stations. I don't recall any violent rhetoric during the late seventies.
Jerry Brown was Governor, Jimmy Carter was President and Disco was King.
The American people are getting awfully tired of being herded in to the first floor of the two story outhouse with the politicians up on the second story just grunting. This is not the way our system is supposed to work.
They can listen to us now. They can be out of work after the '10 elections. Or they can cheat their way through another bunch of fraud filled elections and face the American people with their hands full of sharp pitchforks and other implements and buckets of hot tar and bags of feathers.
This won't be the first time politicians have failed to heed the people. Funny how the people always get the last laugh. Something about outnumbering them.
C'mon guys…this is all according to the Alinsky handbook. You're expecting honesty – it isn't there. The goal is power – any way, any how. If you expect Dems to deal honestly with you, you're just Charley Brown trusting Lucy to hold the football – because she _promises_ she will – this time. Don't you believe it.
You know…when we got into Iraq, I started learning about islam. I learned about taqiya – a practice in some muslim groups that not only permits but encourages lying to the "infidel" if that lie will help islam. When I really grasped the idea that "lying is good", I was shocked by the awareness that in dealing with someone who practices this is a person you absolutely cannot believe – in anything. Now I'm coming to the awareness that Dems – at least those who have every intention of taking us to communism in this country – have no compunction about lying as necessary to achieve their ends. I'm still at a loss as to how you deal with them – because we have to – but in every case, I think it's a matter of "trust but verify".
Whatever you do – don't take them at their word – it's worthless.
I have lived in SF for quite a while now and what goes on in SF the rest of the country isn't even 1/2 aware of how far left it has become. But it's gone over-the-top left with a one-party "progressive" regime – there is simply one-side, no balance. Opposition is politically incorrect, never tolerated, banished. Everyone in position of authority is too busy playing follow the leader, there's nothing innovative, nobody would dare speak out against it for the punishment that would be incurred.
SF is probably the closest thing the US has in way of what living in the USSR behind the Iron Curtain must have been like. Imagine Communism run amuck and you can imagine SF and many of the bedroom communities, including Berkeley to the east and Santa Cruz to the south. It's nearly the same one-party-only hegemony over CA State government in Sacramento too. It's all partisanship, all "progressive", all tending toward Communism – no matter how they call it, dress it up and plaster over with lipstick – it's Communism – Cuba style – another Havanna.
Pelosi's friends and fellow politicians with whom she cabals in secret in the dark, dull, smoke-less back rooms where "the-one-party" decides everything for SF are on the record as Marxists.
It's no secret. Everyone knows it – nod, nod, wink, wink – no secret here in SF.
And anything even slightly unflattering about very truthful reports of her misdoings in DC (the CIA flap, her jumbo jet demands) – they're all covered over by the local media in SF – patched up, ignored or made to seem "not so bad" – and the agenda changed into "bad old GWB" (forever their favorite) or else charges of "racism/sexism/etal-ism" – or offset by whipping up some more anti-smoking hate, calls against "the obese", some new minorities they feel free to let loose their rage on – more important than Pelosi's outrageous behaviour is all this distraction the news media plays cover for her out here locally.
After all, they need to get her – and others like her – elected – again and again and again and again and again.
It's how "the-one-party" handles things, once you have nothing but a one-party system, a Communist system run by "progressives".
With them in charge of DC, I would expect what happened to SF the last ten years, to see that now played out on the national scene – lots of change alright, but not what people must have been expecting. Follow what's happened to SF and you can pretty much road-map what to expect coast to coast and in your home-state next before the next four years are through.
Expect lots of socialism leading to a lot of communism leading to a "necessary" constitutional re-write – the things out here in SF with which they're most obsessed and have been for decades now, gaining momentum, looking forward to this current time to finally do the dirty deed on everyone outside of SF and CA who aren't totally aware of what the "progressives" out here have been plotting for at least the last 3 decades.
I watched it in its infancy back then, could never reason with them then – and sure as hell can't reason with them now, not that they've taken full command – have all corners owned.
I predict a very bumpy ride for outside of SF and CA – anyone who isn't aware what happened out here – when it starts happening everywhere now by way of DC.
Pelosi is a ring leader though and a verifiable Marxist – everyone knows it – just nobody comes out and says it – nod, nod, wink, wink you know.
