Look, Ma! I Have a Podcast!

| September 10, 2009 | Comments (4)

I’ve been kicking around the idea of doing my own internet radio show for a couple months now. I spent a lot of time asking my friends and family for advice and I got a lot of really good advice. IN particular, Wendy Sullivan was a massive font of common sense and encouragement. You can get a taste of her common sense in these two posts on internet radio vs podcasting and soliciting criticism.

So, to cut to the chase, I now have my own podcast. It’s called “The Delivery” and it’s part of the Take That! Radio lineup, which also produces very good podcasts by Wendy, Melissa Clouthier, and Tabitha Hale, among others. Mike Williams, my producer, will handle all the technical production work, which means I can concentrate almost solely on content. If The Delivery succeeds or fails, it’ll do so on my ability to put together an interesting show each week. I’m excited about that.

You’ll be able to get The Delivery every Friday by direct download both at the Take That! site and right here. There will also be an option to subscribe to the show on iTunes. My post here each week will include links to articles, blog posts, and videos I talk about during the show so you can follow along while you listen, if you want. You can also leave comments on the post as well, so if you want to talk about the show, suggest new topics, or song requests, you can do that as well. I’d like as much participation from you as I can get. Audience feedback can only make me better, right?

The first episode is already in the can and Mike is working his production magic as I write this. I know what my part will sound like but I’ve no idea how it’ll sound once it’s all put together. I’m eager to hear it and I trust you’ll get a kick out of it, too.

So, watch the blog for my post on Friday. I have a podcast and you’ll all invited to play along!

This is a great idea. I enjoy your appearances on other people's shows (like the last Rick Moran show you did…hence, the tip you got that day.) You gave me some good, common-sense logic to argue back to my lib friends about why it was necessary to fight this bama-care fiasco right now. So good luck…looking forward to listening!

Welcome to the Take That! lineup Jimmie. Of course now it will be harder to steal your stuff and pass it off as my own… ;)
