Top White House aides gave Senate Democrats a recess battle plan on Thursday, arming the lawmakers with tips for avoiding disastrous town hall meetings while showing them polling on popular aspects of the reform effort.
…
“If you get hit, we will punch back twice as hard,” Messina said, according to an official who attended the meeting
Yesterday, at a rally for R. Creigh Deeds in Virginia, President Obama said: “I don’t want the folks who created the mess do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don’t mind cleaning up after them, but don’t do a lot of talking.”
SEIU heavy Dennis Rivera then took over, taking calls from scripted SEIU members who read statements (one of which was painfully, barely coherent).
Rivera closed by railing against the “radical fringe” of “right-wingers” and urged his “Purple Army” to fight “terrorist tactics.”
And yet more cause:
Another one of Ms. Jorge’s tips is to “Address the [member of Congress] directly with a positive message: Remember, these Members need cover and they are getting beaten up by right wing zealots in these meetings.”
HCAN Communications Director Jacki Schechner said protecting elected officials who support their favored reforms was necessary given the contentious nature of some town-hall meetings.
Ms. Schechner said conservatives are baiting lawmakers into holding town-hall meetings, “so [lawmakers] can get yelled at and they don’t want to feel unsafe and uncomfortable.”
Which leads to Effect (via Dan Collins’ very good roundup):
I was at the event. My name is David Brown. I am an atty in St. Louis. My friend, Kenneth Gladney, who is black, was passing out Don’t Tread on Me Flags and Tea Party buttons at the end of the event to Tea Party supporters and conservatives. He was then called a racial slur by two SEIU members. He was then attacked by two black males (SEIU reps) and white male, another SEIU rep., and a white woman. The punched him in the face and he fell to the ground. He was then kicked and punched by all four. One fled on foot, and three were arrested. Kenneth was taken to St. John’s Mercy Hospital to the emergency room. He has suffered numerous injuries.
And more effect:
An anti-Obamacare protester was slapped by a Leftist supporter of socialized health care at a town hall in Florida today.
And yet more effect:
One of those involved in a scuffle, Randy Arthur, of Oldsmar said he was injured by those manning the doors and said he would file a police report.
He and his wife, Kathy, were outside the meeting room when organizers tried to close the doors. Randy Arthur and others tried to stop them “and he didn’t give up,” Kathy Arthur said.
Randy Arthur, who owns an air conditioning service company, later talked to police officers, his knit shirt ripped and a few scratches visible on his chest. “They slammed him into the wall,” Kathy Arthur said…
At town hall meetings where union thugs called into action by the Democrats (unions who, by the way, boast of their friends in the White House) were not present, there was a lot of yelling and angry Americans demanding their elected representatives do such simple things as reading the bill they say they want to support, but no actual violence.
Nevertheless, the left has responded as the left always does. They have couched the protests of average Americans as an onslaught from paid operatives of shadowy and likely evil wealthy interests while staying cloaked in a shroud of disingenuous babble. The MSM has largely bought the lie and does its best to couch well-financed, very organized interest groups as innocent lambs, but it’s not working.
People are well and truly ticked off about the stunning ignorance and arrogance they’re seeing from their members of Congress and, as has always happened in our democracy, anger translates to lots of noise that eventually gets the attention of the elected officials. Noise is, in fact, one of the vital checks and balances in our system of government because it is an obvious display of raw voting power. At some point, calm reason has to stop because you’ve convinced everyone who can be convinced. That’s when you and those who agree with you show up to prove that there are more of you than there are on the other side.
But when that nonviolent but sometimes boisterous process is short-circuited by people who don’t believe they should be constrained by the same rules as the rest of us, well, this is what you get.

The audacity, arrogance, and hostility of the left is on full display.
When protests turn violent, who’s involved? Liberals, Progressives, Democrats.
They sure as hell like to blame us for violence that we didn’t participate in, but when they are ACTUALLY VIOLENT they dismiss it and ignore it, and the dinosaur media refuses to report it to keep the narrative alive. Except… its dying. Slow, painful, writhing death.
And it is sweet to watch.
Glad you good Christians are doing the right thing by ensuring that your corporate masters are free to continue denying health care claims to dying children so you can sit around collecting your Medicaid checks like the lazy, free-loading hyenas you pieces of old trash are.
Just remember, this debate isn’t over until one group goes silently, and judging by the age of the old hags you get to bark and howl at these town halls it seems like mother nature just may solve the problem for us very quickly.
You can scream and cry all you like, just remember that the moment you cash that Medicaid check you have just proven yourself to be nothing more than a selfish, lying hypocrite (the rest of us know it, but it would be nice if you acknowledged it once and awhile).
I like you progressive morons. You’re funny.
