Here Come the Health Care Doomsingers

Things are getting desperate in Obamacare Central Command. The left is warming up its choir and making sure every section — labor unions, activist groups, and members of Congress beholden to them — is ready to sing its sad tale of woe in perfect harmony (via HotAir Headlines). The first stanza, the lie that Republicans want to do nothing, has already been sung. The next verse will sound a lot like the first, only louder and sadder and backed with tens of millions of dollars.

See, Democrats want us to believe that they can’t pass Obamacare by themselves. Despite a commanding majority in the House and a veto and filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, Democrats are still trying to put the finger on Republicans whose support they say is crucial. If you don’t believe me, here’s what Democratic Senator Kent Conrad said Sunday morning (via Dave in Texas):

“There are not the votes for Democrats to do this just on our side of the aisle. It is not possible and perhaps not desirable either,” Conrad said on ABC’s “This Week.”

Why isn’t it possible?

Because even Democrats know that Obamacare stinks to high Heaven. The party needs a couple of week, and a blistering lobbying effort to try to bluster or bribe recalcitrant members of Congress back into line but they can’t blame those Democrats for gumming up the works. They need a scapegoat and the Republicans will do nicely.

We simply can’t let that happen. Jim DeMint was right. If we stop the President, Nancy Pelosi, the weasel Harry Reid, and the rest of the power-hungry Democrats on health care, then we cripple their efforts on cap-and-trade as well. We got rolled on the Vote-Buying Act. Let’s not get gulled by their songs of doom again.

UPDATE: I like Moe’s take on the coming propaganda blitz:

In other words, as the largely-imaginary deadline on passing a health care rationing bill looms, the Democratic party is planning to use the August recess to hammer at the opposition of… its own members. Meanwhile, the Republican party is proving to be more than happy at reminding those members about why they’re in opposition in the first place; what makes it doubly entertaining is that, win or lose, tying ‘moderate’ or ‘conservative’ Democrats to health rationing will benefit the GOP in next year’s races. As Jeff noted earlier, the American people are by and large not particularly upset with their personal level of care, and they are not going to enjoy having it taken over by the government.

  1. democratsarefascists says:

I hope it's true that this is over for the remainder of Obama's ill-gotten term(s).

Whether it is or not, the GOP/RNC needs to get out in front of writing the history on it. The 2010/2012 Democrat lies will all claim the people wanted this socialist scam but we were the party of "no."

The truth must be told and retold:

This failed because the American people got tired of having Democrat fascists cram slavery down their throats. Democrat arrogance and elitism cost them their precious empire.
