If The DNC Will Lie For You, Will They Lie About You?
This advertisement is a lie.
The lie is clever because it is an implied lie. It purports to say that your choice on health care reform is binary: either accept the President’s plan or do nothing. However, there are other choices out there. You’ve not heard about them because the President has sucked all the air out of the room. His plan is the dominant plan (as it should be since he’s the President and his party control Congress completely).
But there are other plans out there. They will reduce health care costs. They will put control of your health care in your hands. They will not cost well over a trillion dollars. They will not require massive new taxes on everyone.
Of course, the DNC won’t tell you that. It’s not in their interests to do so.
My Mom used to tell me that someone who would lie to someone else to help you out would lie to you to help themselves out. Well, here’s the lie on your behalf. Where’s the lie that helps them out?
