I am a strong proponent of nationalized, universal health care, and I agree with the idea that Obama/Congress should be put under the public option. They should also be the first ones to have their families drafted if they determine it's necessary for us to go to war. To quote the philosopher Tupac Shakur: How come the president lives in the White House? Why doesn't he live in the crack house? Then we'll see how fast the drug epidemic clears up.

And when your employer drops coverage because it's cheaper? And when the bill outlaws your ability to buy new private insurance (which it appears the bill will do)?

Yes, we will be forced into a public plan. You can say we won't all you like, but we will. If the law doesn't do so explicitly, basic rules of economics and government will.

The simple fact of the matter is that people like you, Serena, are deceived. The debate is not between nationalized health care and no changes at all. There are options on the table that are guaranteed to improve the system (based on simple economic principles and known history) that do not require our adopting a system that countries like England and Canada are trying to get out of.

Put down the Kool Aid and think.

Nobody is "forcing" a public health plan on you, you stupid moron. If you're happy with your private insurance, you can keep it. Then when your insurance company begins denying your claims or even cancels you outright when you become sick, you can figure out what your next step will be… and maybe you'll finally figure out why 80% of the American public wants this public plan.
