Baseball Been Berry Berry Good to Barry
Is there anything real at all to Barack Obama?
I only ask because one of the things we’re told about him is that he’s a hard core fan of the Chicago White Sox baseball team. Behold his hard-coredness:
Obama: “I love baseball. Baseball is America’s pastime. I’d like to see the baseball Commissioner handle this without Congress being involved. We’ve got a lot of stuff on our plate.”
Scott: “If the Cubs and the White Sox both make it to the World Series?
Obama: “I would be going.”
Scott: “Who would you root for?
Obama: “Oh, that’s easy. White Sox. I’m not one of these fair weather fans. You go to Wrigley Field, you have a beer, beautiful people up there. People aren’t watching the game. It’s not serious. White Sox, that’s baseball. Southside.”
Even with that, I’d expect Mr. Hardcore Pale Hose Fan to remember the name of the ballpark where his beloved team played for over 80 years, one of the most storied in baseball history known as “The Baseball Palace of the World”.
Alternately, he could just be a poser who caught a game or two from comp seats right behind the dugout or in the luxury box, courtesy of his Chicago political connections, at that “Cominskey Field” place.
There’s nothing wrong with being a casual fan of the home team. As a matter of fact, I like it when folks move into a new city and become “homers”. I just don’t like it when they pretend that they’ve been a fan all along.
UPDATE: Allah gets off two great lines.
Of the two Chicago stadiums, I’ve always preferred Wringley Park. But to each his own.
In fairness, The One’s worldview was shaped by someone whose name ended in -insky so you can see why he might have slipped.

As a Cubs fan I would be offended by his remarks but since he's such a phony there's no point. Apparently Sotomayor is also pretending to be a baseball fan.
Perhaps she'll tell us how a wise Latino shortstop would field the position better?
A person who's name ended in "insky?"
Soda Popinsky? I didn't know Obama liked Punch-Out!!
