Another Promise Broken
How do you get a job in the Obama administration? Andrew Malcom cracked the code.
First, get a lot of money.
Second, get a lot of friends with a lot of money.
Third, all of you give a lot of that money to Barack Obama’s Democratic presidential campaign.
This is, of course, the same way plenty of folks have gotten jobs in Presidential administrations, Republican and Democrat. It’s no shock that an American President is giving cushy ambassadorships to well-heeled campaign allies. President Obama, however, promised to be different. He promised to change the old ways of doing things. He promised more accountability and transparency.
He wasn’t all that honest with us, was he? Don’t be terribly surprised. This isn’t the only promise related to those two particular subjects he’s broken within days of taking the Oath of Office (via memeorandum).
Like Jim Geraghty says, “All Obama’s promises have expiration dates.” All of them.
To that I’d add, “…especially the ones that involve transparency and accountability”.
