Politically, I think it's best if Pelosi continues for a while as Speaker. She's been serially incompetent pretty much from Day One. Under her reign, Congress' approval levels have dropped to historic lows and have largely stayed there for years. Someone with more intelligence, like Steny Hoyer, would do better just by being there. Then again, so would a pet rock.
