Although I completely agreed and was inclined to say it's OK for Notre Dame to invite anyone to speak, it's just the honorary degree to Obama that is objectionable, I've changed my mind somewhat on that. This is because Obama must have agreed to speak at Notre Dame for the political benefit to himself; the school is being used by the most cynical politician of our generation (I think he makes the Clintons look principled!), and it is clueless about this.
