I thought this administration was going to be all about the transparency.
You know those family photos that someone snapped at the lake and they really show your unwanted gut hanging out over the swimsuit and so somehow those pictures don’t end up in the family scrapbook?
Well, that’s the same deal with those expensive publicity shots of the Air Force One backup plane flying low over lower Manhattan the other day. The ones that caused 9/11-style panic, many downtown Gotham buildings to evacuate and two injuries.
According to the N.Y. Post today, those photos have been classified and will not be released by the transparent Obama White House. Not really classified as in “top secret” classified. But classified as in those are going in the file cabinet.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but we paid close to 400 grand for those photographs. I want them.
You know, in case some Congressman or someone important like that comes to visit.
Speaking of transparency, isn’t it nice to have a press corps that automatically airbrushes away such embarrassing stuff as our President trying to get some Dijon Mustard for his greasy-spoon cheeseburger.
Oh yeah. He’s a man of the people all right.

Is this seriously what the media has devolved to? They’re hiding that he wanted “Dijon Mustard” on his burger?
What’s the big deal? Why hide it? WHY REPORT IT?! He likes a particular kind of mustard. I like a particular kind of cola. Whoopdey frickin doo!
And the pictures, everyone already knows about. Why hide them? What is WITH these people? They’re probably afraid to release them because the price tag would have people asking “So THAT was worth $400k?”
I guess money DOES grow on trees for these folks.
As a New Yorker, the only thing worse for me than that stupid photo-op would be if the Administration went ahead and used the pictures. They shouldn’t be released; it’s not like we don’t have tons of cell phone coverage of it anyway.
And are we really pretending now that Dijon mustard is some kind of crazy elitist food? SERIOUSLY? Sometimes I think conservatives are like 3 years olds screaming EWWWW with their fixation on things like mustard and arugula. Do you always have to order the chicken fingers and ketchup when you go out to eat?
There really are much better things for the media to be reporting and for conservatives to be pissed about–and I say this as an Obama supporter!
But hey, keep screaming about Dijon mustard–this is the kind of brilliant Republican ’strategery’ that will keep Democrats in control of all branches of government for 20 years.
>>And are we really pretending now that Dijon mustard is some kind of crazy elitist food? >>
Well…no. But it seems that the MSM is. We “three year old” conservatives don’t have a problem with Dijon mustard – but we do have a problem with hiding the fact that he prefers it. The problem is the “cover up” – not the fact.

I have to believe you’re joking about this.
“SERIOUSLY? Sometimes I think conservatives are like 3 years olds screaming ”
That’s okay….that’s what we thought of you leftie cranks when you were laughing about Bush choking on chips or trying to open a locked door. Hey, remember how riotously funny it was when someone arranged for GWB’s bio to come up whenever you googled “miserable failure” – ROFL….good times, eh?
But alas, you liberals grow up so fast….why, just yesterday, you were all about juvenile jokes & finding the humor in every minuscule misstep…..but now, as of Jan. 20th, you are all growed-up & lecturing others about how to act mature. What progress!
No…not joking. Nobody cares if Obama prefers Dijon mustard. We care about the fact that the MSM _deliberately_ doesn’t report that he prefers Dijon because they think it doesn’t fit his popular image. The press was “covering up” the fact that Obama wanted Dijon mustard – why?
The problem is with the press, not with Obama on this one. The problem is that the press is supposed to be independent – not political – in its reporting. The fact is, the press is in the tank for the president – that’s the problem.
We want objective, unbiased reporting…not perpetual campaign love blurbs.
