Specterenfreud: Turncoat Demoted to Committee Coffee Boy
I like this new word William Jacobson has coined.
Specterenfreude
The pleasure derived from watching Arlen Specter do unto Democrats that which Specter did unto Republicans.
My guess is that the specterenfreude is going to increase exponentially now that he’s been named Junior Assistant Committee Lackey by his new party after he was promised leadership spots by Harry Reid.
Instead of using the power of a Committee Chair to help his re-election campaign, he’ll be getting coffee, sharpening pencils, and whatever else the extraneous committee members actually do instead of steering tax money to their buddies and making sound bytes for campaign commercials.
That ought to make him lots more willing to be that critical 60th vote, huh?
