If Carrie Prejean Were a Rich Democratic Donor, NOW Would Probably Defend Her

Dan Collins cuts all the way to the quick on Boobiegate.

The grotesque spectacle of homosexual judges of heterosexual beauty standards claiming that they are the ones who have a right to define what is beautiful for straight men–and really the equally grotesque spectacle of Olbermann pretending to be some form of journalist–demonstrates perfectly Jeff’s thesis about what happens (control+f “Wizard of Oz”) when the power of interpretation is seized by and ceded to a strange little pseudo-intellectual cadre based on grievance.

I ask the same question I more or less asked here: Has anyone heard a single peep from NOW or any other members of the She-Womyn Man Haters’ Club about this?

Let’s not even bother with the answer since we know what it is. Misogyny is perfectly fine with the left so long as it’s aimed at women perceived as conservative? I say “perceived” because, as Bob Somerby points out several times, Carrie Prejean’s opinion on gay marriage is actually more liberal than those held by President Obama, Secretary of State Clinton, and the Presidential candidates trio of John Edwards, John Kerry, and Al Gore.

The difference between Miss Prejean and the bulk of the Democratic leadership is that she lacks the power to stuff vast amounts of cash into the pockets of progressive activists and their media shills.

UPDATE: Jeff Goldstein says we can’t use that icky “F-word” or we’ll scare off the moderates.

UPDATE 2: Equal does not mean identical, unless you’re on the left.
